Michael E. Lischer, CPCU

A University of Iowa graduate, Mike joined Ruhl & Ruhl in 1977 and was President/CEO of the company from 1992 until 2003 and currently serves as CEO and Chairman of the Board.  In addition to earning his "Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter" (CPCU) professional designation in 1980, he also holds a Master's Degree in Insurance. Mike has served as President of the Davenport Association of Independent Insurance Agents, the Davenport Club, the Outing Club and Lindsay Park Yacht Club. He has also been a member of the faculty of St. Ambrose University and taught various courses for the Quad Cities Insurance Education County, as well as served as a teaching consultant for Junior Achievement.
Mike's interests include boating, spending time with his family and in addition, is a member of Davenport Rotary and serves on the Advisory Board for the Iowa Council, "Boy Scouts of America" (BSA).

Scott joined Ruhl & Ruhl in 1988, after serving as Bond Manager for the Chubb Company in Denver. He has recently been appointed President.  In addition to earning a MBA from the University of Denver, Scott has worked with Rejuvenate Davenport. His interests include golf and jogging.

Originally from Indiana , Jay graduated cum laude from Indiana State University in 1970.  He joined Ruhl & Ruhl in 1980 and became Vice President as well as a principal of the agency in 1989.

In 1973, Jay began his insurance career with Liberty Mutual.  He earned his “Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter” (CPCU) professional designation in 1984 and in 1994, also earned the professional designation “Associate in Marine Insurance Management ” (AMIM). In June 2000, Jay earned the “Associate in Risk Management ” designation, ARM.

Jay served as coordinator for the Quad Cities Insurance Education Council and as an instructor of various insurance courses for several years.  Jay has held all the executive positions of the Quad City Chapter, Society of CPCU as well as the Board of the Independent Agents of Scott County.  Jay also assists the membership committee of the Board of the Greater Quad-Cities “Risk and Insurance Management Society” (RIMS) and is a member of the Society’s National Member and Chapter Services Committee.

Mike joined Ruhl & Ruhl in June, 1992 after four years in the Chicagoland area as Life, Health and Personal Lines insurance agent with Country Companies.  In 1991, he earned his “Life Underwriter Training Council Fellowship” (L.U.T.C.F.) and is a graduate of North Central College in Naperville.  He is past Rotary and Board of Directors member of the Quad Cities Big Brother/Big Sister Program.  Mike has recently become an agency Principal at Ruhl and Ruhl Insurance and currently is a Board Member with the Independent Agent’s of Scott County Association.  Mike and his wife, Mary, have three children: Alex, Ashton and Keegan.

A former Casualty Underwriter and Marketing Representative for Allied Mutual Insurance, Tim has been with Ruhl & Ruhl since 1980. An Iowa State University Graduate, Tim has earned both the "Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter" (CPCU) as well as the "Associate in Risk Management" (ARM) designation. Tim currently serves as Treasurer for the Davenport Noon Optimist Club  He is past president for the Davenport Optimist Club, Quad City Insurance Education Council, Quad City Chapter, Society of CPCU, and Scott County Independent Insurance Agents Association.
